"To me, beautiful brows look natural, create balance, and frame the face perfectly."
Ali Erdel recently celebrated five years in the micorblading business, cutting the ribbon this past summer on her Zionsville studio - a warm, welcoming space with a rock-and-roll vibe. The certified microblading artist and creator of the #badassbrowsclub previously served as a special education teacher, but she was ready for a change that offered more time and flexibility for her family. Ali fell in love with microbladed brows - especially the art of making them authentic and undeniably real. "At ARCHED Studio, we want to create brows that look realistic and as natural as possible," she says, adding that her clients are both men and women of all ages, some traveling across the country for the ARCHED experience and their signature, fluffy brows.
With a natural artistic talent, Ali loves the artistry and creative outlet microblading provides, as well as the connections she has made with her clients and within the industry. In 2021, Beth Wyeth joined Ali at ARCHED, also shifting careers after working in dental hygiene. "Beth is such an amazing artist. She creates beautiful, natural brows that exemplify what we do at ARCHED," says Ali. The two make a terrific team and share a passion for helping clients gain confidence and happiness through the art of microblading, especially those recovering from chemotherapy treatments or those who suffer from alopecia, trichotillomania, and other hair loss issues. They also make a point to give back to the community and recently hosted an after-hours wine tasting event at the new studio to benefit The Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence, with more in store.

Beth Wyeth is a natural microblading artist at Arched Studio Inc. She began her career as a dental hygienist over 20 years ago, with the plan to use that skill to move into a more artistic career. She transitioned her longtime passion for helping people in the dental chair into helping people in the microblading studio with a creative, conscious and intuitive microblading process. Tell us more, Beth!
My Maven Superpower is … The ability to give you confidence and enhance your natural beauty.
Best book I’ve read lately is … All Things Aside by Iliza Shlesinger! She’s insightful, honest and fabulously funny.
Self-care habit I swear by … Getting out into nature. A good hike (maybe a podcast/book, maybe nothing) and focusing on my footsteps.
My first job was … I worked as a waitress in a little diner near my hometown that served amazing bottomless coffee carafes.
The best career advice I can offer is … Be a lifelong learner, and not just about your career. Learn about what drives you and what inspires you, along with picking up skills and information.
A purchase I’ve been loving lately is … A roll-on perfume from Hyde and Alchemy. They are a natural, small-batch perfumery out of Fort Wayne, Indiana!
I feel most confident when … I get to be myself! Building human connection requires honesty and realness, and there’s a trust created when those bonds are made.
My favorite local restaurant dish is … I welcome all things food, so I have many favorites. Right now I love the Bonfire Roll at Tegry Bistro, the Margarita pizza at Convivio, and the beet salad at Bluebeard.
The thing I’ve been binging lately is … “The Great” on Hulu. If you aren’t in the know, it’s a satirical story about the rise of Catherine the Great. The costumes alone are worth the watch, and the story sucks you in right away.
A fun fact about me is … I used to be a backyard beekeeper! Did you know that to produce a pound of honey it takes around 2 million flower visits?
The skill I most want to learn is … I would love to learn ceramics!
A Maven you should know is … Sara Anderson, speaking of ceramic skills

Ali Erdel, owner of ARCHED Studio/Arched by Ali, cut the ribbon to open her new space at 260 First St., Zionsville. The studio is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
Microblading is a cosmetic procedure that uses a needle to insert pigment under the skin to give well-defined and natural looking eyebrows, according to healthline.com.

I had my eyebrows microbladed almost three years ago, by one of the first people in the city to offer the service. At this point in time, microblading was a BRAND NEW service in Indianapolis. No one I knew had had the service performed BUT I HAD TO HAVE IT. Don’t get me wrong- with anything brand new, there are fewer “artists” to choose from, everyone has less experience and the process is a novelty. I’m not bad mouthing the person I saw the first time I had this done, but I am saying that maybe I was one of her initial clients, and the artistic element wasn’t quite . . .perfection? (If you have questions regarding this, please feel free to contact me privately, but at this point in time I am not trying to “put her on blast.”)
I actually started following Ali a few weeks before she reached out to me. “HOLY SHIT!” I thought- my brows have been microbladed and they don’t look like this? I continued to follow Ali and look at her work- but if I’m being honest, it’s more like artwork. This is what I say about the brows she does, ” If you didn’t know, you wouldn’t know!” They look so natural, perfect and FANTASTIC.
Can I tell you guys- Ali was so professional, she spent FOREVER going through my color options with me and was extremely meticulous about drawing my outline on (this is called “brow mapping”), and changed it for me according to my personal preference. (Side note- your outline will always look a million times bolder than your finished product)!
